In Laroque, the day of August 15, the Committee of Festivals passes the PALM. The word palm surely makes one think of the palm of the hand.

The Committee of Festivals stops by all the village houses to offer, among other things, sweets in return for which the villagers must participate in preparing the festival. All of this is accompanied again by the tunes of the accordion, without a doubt!

This is why we hold out the palm of our hand (for the sweets)… I must mention that many villagers serve us a drink because it can get very hot at noon, on the 15th of August..

The passage of the Palm therefore permits us to collect some money so ensure that next year's summertime party is even better than the one before it..

The passage of the palm is also the pretext for getting everybody in the village to dance, no matter his or her age!
